He glances my way as I rove through the inert volcano's cave
This single glance wakes my sleeping heart and brings it to soaring life
As we pass, his shirt brushes my arm
The rise and fall of his chest as he breathes makes me elated
The sulfurous desert like air fuels the tension
We two stroll in tandem towards the babbling creek
He swoops around to speak but decides against it
As he drives his Jeep, me riding shotgun
His sweet smell of light rain makes this reunion even more joyous
