Reading Post #4
Over the four day weekend I read "American Born Chinese", eight chapters of "Postcard"(s), and began reading the first section of a book called "The handbook for the Modern Girl". American born Chinese was a graphic novel which I did enjoy but only to a point because it was a graphic novel and not very much reading. The end was woven together in some unimaginably complicated way which I can not even remember. Postcard(s) was about a teen whose grandmother who lived in Florida died and he had to go down there and help his dad pack up and sell her house. In the end of the chapter that I last read he gets a phone call that is quite confusing because the caller does not know if he called the right number or not. But the jist of the conversation goes "How smart are you?". "The handbook for the Modern Girl" has kind of an ironic title now because the book was published in 1933 and is now not so modern. I have found some of the information quite useful though. I look forward to finishing reading all of the books I have started and can not wait for the next bit of interesting text that wanders my way.
